Boys Scouts
Here is an update about what’s happening with the scouts.
Boy Scout Troop 371 of St. Dominic Savio just completed another exciting year. Since January, the Scouts enjoyed a winter campout, orienteering meet, hiking, a bike trek, and a campout at the. This summer, the 11 Scouts went camping for a week at Camp Tahquitz, where the Scouts earned over 40 merit badges in:
- Scoutcraft (Wilderness Survival)
- Field Sports (Archery, Rifle Shooting, Rock Climbing)
- Water Sports (Canoeing, Lifesaving, Swimming)
- Emergency Training (First Aid)
- Artistic Studies (Art, Basketry, Woodcarving, Leatherwork)
The new Scout year has just started. Any boy who is 11 but not yet 18 is welcome to join, and you can join at any time of the year. (If you used to be a Scout and dropped out of the program, you’re always welcome to drop back in.) Our meetings are held each Wednesday night from 6:45 to 8:15 at St. Dominic Savio.
